GLYCATION

Take control of your aging: Ask your mother!

Epigenetics can transform risky behaviors during a mother’s pregnancy into accelerated aging in her offspring.

Being born in New York between late 2001 and early 2002 is a risk factor for the development of chronic stress. This is a consequence of the stress caused to the mother, who was pregnant at the time, by the September 11th attacks.

This phenomenon of trauma transmission, observed on other occasions and sometimes over several generations, is an illustration of epigenetics.

Trauma suffered during pregnancy can therefore be passed on to children. What about the transmission of risk factors for accelerated aging and age-related diseases?

The prevalence of chronic and age-related diseases is increasing rapidly. A growing number of studies show that susceptibility to these chronic diseases is transmitted epigenetically to offspring (1). The irreversibility of the transmission would be linked to its precocity.

For example, an unbalanced diet of the mother during gestation is significantly associated with a risk of diabetes or hypertension in the child.

Aging and pregnancy: 9 months that count!

A mother’s history of junk food, stress, sedentary lifestyle, sleep disorders and toxic substances (tobacco, alcohol, etc.) during pregnancy are bad indicators of her own aging and that of her offspring.

It goes without saying that these behaviours, which promote accelerated ageing and age-related illnesses, should be avoided by pregnant women to promote healthy aging… of their unborn child!

[Glycation is one of the major causes of aging. Resulting from the fixation of sugars on the proteins constituting the organism, glycation generates toxic compounds that cause cellular aging. Glycation is particularly involved in metabolic disorders, skin aging and cognitive decline.] [AGE BREAKER, patented nutritional supplements, based on rosmarinic acid, recognized by aging specialists around the world for their properties to reverse the effects of glycation.]
