WHAT'S NEW?

COVID-19, ACE-2, POLYPHENOLS, ROSMARINIC ACID, NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTS… What’s new?

As a result of recent publications and communications, more and more doctors are prescribing polyphenols, including rosmarinic acid, to prevent COVID-19.

We share here the communication from Dr. Leo Galland of New York.

SUMMARY:

COVID-19, the importance of ACE-2:
COVID-19 enters human cells by binding to a surface protein called ACE-2. This protein, an enzyme, present in particular in high density in the lung is a factor of regulation of blood pressure.
By binding to ACE-2, the corona virus reduces this enzyme activity.
“Some scientists believe that depletion of ACE-2 is responsible for the severity of pneumonia and for catastrophic effects like heart failure and circulatory collapse”.
“Conditions associated with death from COVID-19 infection (old age, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, smoking) are all associated with decreased activity of ACE-2”.
“The second phase of COVID-19, progression from minor viral disease to severe pneumonia, may reflect the exhaustion of ACE-2, occurring several days after the first symptoms”.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

Protecting yourself from COVID-19 requires strengthening ACE-2.
Natural products, available in the form of food supplements, which stimulate ACE-2 are:
– Curcumin (polyphenol present in turmeric),
– Resveratrol (polyphenol present in red grapes, cocoa, etc.),
Rosmarinic acid (polyphenol present in lamiaceae plants, rosemary, etc.).
