GLYCATION WHAT'S NEW?

GLYCATION, DEGLYCATION, ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION: news.

The use of deglycating molecules would reverse erectile dysfunction.

Erectile dysfunction is an early manifestation of cardiovascular disease, it is aggravated by aging and age-related diseases such as diabetes.

Logically, several studies have shown a link between glycation and erectile dysfunction, but treatments that inhibit glycation do not seem to have any effect on erectile dysfunction (1).

On the other hand, very interestingly, a recent study involving 3 groups of 30 rats confirms the direct link between the level of glycation and erectile dysfunction and shows above all that taking a deglycating molecule (and not simply an anti-glycation) reversed the erectile dysfunction in the glycated group (2).

The molecule used, ALT 711 alagebrium, is not available for treatment on humans, but its mechanism of action, AGEs cross-links breaker of or deglycating, once again demonstrates its tremendous potential for the management of the signs of aging linked to glycation.
