GLYCATION GLYCATION & COGNITION WHAT'S NEW?

GLYCATION, a key role in schizophrenia?

Cognitive impairment would be directly associated with AGEs.

Schizophrenia is a complex psychiatric pathology characterized by significant deficits in attention and disturbed behavior. Clinical observation shows problems with the fluidity of thought and the adjustment of behavior to the context.

A first study showed a correlation between the level of glycation, schizophrenia and its severity (1).

A recent Japanese study of 58 schizophrenic patients established a link between glycation and cognitive impairment and shows that it is cognitive fluency that is affected by AGEs (2).

These findings could lead to new diagnostic and treatment strategies. Interventions to reduce glycation may help promote recovery in patients with schizophrenia.

[AGE BREAKER, patented nutritional supplements, based on rosmarinic acid, recognized by aging specialists around the world for their properties to reverse the effects of glycation.] [Glycation is one of the major causes of aging. Resulting from the fixation of sugars on the proteins constituting the organism, glycation generates toxic compounds that cause cellular aging. Glycation is particularly involved in metabolic disorders, skin aging and cognitive decline.]
