BOOST IMMUNITY by fighting against glycation

Immune defences decline with age, and fighting glycation helps strengthen them.

Glycation is a chemical reaction in which the sugars provided by food react with the body’s proteins, modifying them profoundly. The glycated proteins contain AGEs (Advanced Glycation Endproducts) which are directly the cause of many aging mechanisms and age-related pathologies.

Worse, AGEs bind to specific cells, RAGEs (Receptors of Advanced Glycation Endproducts). The set thus formed (AGEs + RAGEs) induces and inflammatory cascade which activates cells in the immune system which in turn boost the production of AGES further, creating a real vicious cycle.

Glycation weakens an immune system already weakened by age (1).

Reducing the amount of AGEs accumulated in the body therefore appears to be an interesting solution for breaking this vicious circle and strengthening the immune system in adult and advanced ages (45 years and over).
